SCHEDULE

Black Moon Magazine Printing Schedule:

We operate on a rolling submission basis and are moving to a biannual publishing schedule:

  • We accept submissions August 1st–December 31st for our January issue.
  • We accept submissions February 1st–June 30th for our July issue.

We are closed for submissions in January and July in order to focus on production.

Thanks to a generous Bridge Fellowship from the University of Arkansas Gender Studies Program, we were able to offer payment to contributors of a special Women’s Issue. However, at this time, we are an online-only publication and we are unable to consistently pay our contributors. We are working diligently to change these realities, but your patience while we do so is appreciated.

While we hope to branch out and accept creative nonfiction and dramatic pieces in the future, for now we only accept fiction, poetry, and visual art for our biannual issues. We also accept interviews and reviews for our blog. Please see the submission guidelines below. Feel free to submit to either, or both, of the categories. If you are submitting to both categories, please send a separate email for fiction and poetry entries.

  • We will only accept files that are .pdf, .doc, or .docx
  • We are only interested in reviews of professionals in the writing community. This include but is not limited to: authors, editors, publishers, professors, agents, and conference coordinators.
  • If you are submitting an author interview, please note preference will be given to interviews with authors who either have published a book or have a book forthcoming.

  • Please include the following information in your review: author’s name, cover art, title, publisher, and publication date.
